Tips for Cleaning and Storing your Jewelry
Rub the silver between a sterling silver polish cloth with your fingers. Be mindful of delicate jewelry and try not to use too much force on thin wires.
Avoid rubbing the polish cloth on gemstones or shell. The polish cloth is treated with a chemical cleaner that can be harmful to stones.
DO NOT USE LIQUID CLEANERS. Most commercial cleaners are very strong and will remove all oxidation! Many of our designs are purposely oxidized then polished, so that crevices are darkened to bring out the depth and beauty of a piece. Take care not to remove this design element. Although polishing your jewelry with a cloth may take a little more time, but it is worth it and will ensure the longevity of your jewelry.
Store all sterling silver jewelry in sealed plastic bags. Exposure to oxygen causes the silver to tarnish.
Minimize sterling silver’s contact to chemicals (hairspray, perfume, body lotion, bleach, etc.) and do not wear it the shower, swimming pool, hot tub or while cooking. Acidic foods and chemicals can be harmful to the silver and gemstones.
After taking off silver jewelry, clean it with a dry soft cloth before putting it back into an airtight container.
