My greatest passion, as far as I can remember, is spending time outdoors and travelling. My new love is taking that passion and translating it into my work. Every piece I create is inspired by nature and by people around the globe, then engineered into unique, handcrafted artisan jewelry.” - Candy

Candy Lee Carr spent most of her childhood, in Northern Virginia, reading, singing, playing piano, and creating through several artistic modalities.  Her mother was extremely gifted in the arts and she passed that on to Candy and her sister.  She was always learning new techniques.  She would help her mother build inventory for craft shows and then grew to create her own designs.

She also shared a love of math, science and airplanes and went on to graduate from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and pursued a career for 19 years in the field.  She always knew there was a more fulfilling career for her, that would involve her passion for the arts and creating, but had not found it yet.

Her journey into the ancient art of metal, fire, and hammers, began after getting struck by a car, while riding her bicycle.  She was restricted from watching television, reading, working, and exercise forcing her to find creative ways to fill her days.  She took to a basic metalsmithing class, fell in love and never looked back.  In Spring of 2017, she left the aerospace industry to pursue her next chapter with Candy Lee Designs.
